In a letter to Mr. James Thomas, Music Director for the Town of Marshfield, Mr. Ron Simmons, Executive Director of Showcase Music Festivals wrote:

Music SHOWCASE Festivals is pleased to announce that your Jazz Ensemble is the recipient of the Grand Sweepstakes Award for the High School Instrumental Award for our Six Flags Great Adventure Music Showcase Festivals.  This award is given to the highest scoring ensemble on your level from all of the festivals held at the location that you attended.

On behalf of Music SHOWCASE Festivals it is our sincere pleasure to make this announcement and is truly an honor to present this award to you and your fine organization.   The hard work and dedication that you, the director, and every member of the ensemble displayed was exemplary. Your community, parents, and administration should all be proud of your accomplishment.

We have a special acrylic trophy made just for this award so your Grand Sweepstakes Trophy will be shipped to your school as soon as they are available.  We hope that it will be a proud addition to your trophy case and your list of accomplishments!
