The Marshfield High School Music Department held their annual cookout on Friday October 2nd. The party got started at 4:00, an hour earlier than usual but it helped to make for a more relaxing time for music students and their families. Groups seem to come in small waves rather than the huge deluge that we’ve had in the past. Everyone had more time to socialize and well, just eat!
The new director, Mr. David Kaminski, looked pretty comfortable flipping burgers along side his assistant Mr. Scott Brenner. Parents joined in with the cooking as well. As always, there were enough side dishes and desserts to feed an army (all brought in by music families!) It’s community spirit at its finest.
As is customary, the cook out proceeds a home football game and this year was no exception. There’s nothing like being under those Friday night lights and hearing the distant sound of the tap, tap, tapping of the snare drums as the marching band enters the stadium.
Marshfield High went up against rivals, Dennis Yarmouth. Marshfield battled hard in an extremely close game but we in the music department like to think our fabulous marching band makes a big impact on tipping the scales in Marshfield’s favor.
And of course, we won! It was a fitting end to a fabulous evening. Go Rams, Go!
