Marshfield Friends of Music is a non-profit organization of volunteer parents, alumni, residents and friends committed to the enrichment of the Marshfield Schools music program, kindergarten through high school; through funding, volunteerism and raising awareness. This website is designed to offer basic information about current events and upcoming activities in association with the Music Department. Your feedback is always welcome.

Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Event!

 

The Friends of Music will be hosting a "Taste Of the Town" fundraising event on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 7-11 pm at the North Community Church.  Tickets for this event will be on sale in early March, but we need some volunteers to help with set-up, serving, etc.  If you are interested and can help, please go to the "Volunteer" tab above (or click here) and sign up under the heading "Fundraising Activities".  Thanks for your consideration!

February Calendar Raffle is Back!

 

The Calendar Raffle raises money to help participating students' earn for their music accounts, which they can use to pay music-related expenses!  To see how it works, click here!

 
 
Busy Winter 
 
I'd like to congratulate all the staff, students, and parents at FBMS for making their Winter Concerts such a success in January.  Except for the Evening of Jazz on February 7th, there are no concerts in the department until Spring.  However, don't let that fool you into thinking we're not busy.  There are lots of rehearsals, field trips, and festivals happening this time of year.  Please check out the Calendar page for all the details.
 
Speaking of festivals, congratulations once again to all the brave students who have/will audition/ed for festivals.  Marshfield continues to be well represented at auditions and at the festivals themselves.  Once again, we will have three students represent Marshfield at the MMEA All-State Music Festival March 1-3 in Boston.  This stands as a testament not only to the dedication of those students but to the committment and support of our community, staff, and administration at all levels.  Thank you!
 
We're also starting the time of year when students sign back up for our classes.  Please make sure your child has band, orchestra, chorus on next year's schedule as that comes up.
  
  All of our lesson studios are very busy.  If you want private lessons for your child (all levels), fill out a lesson form and get it to me.
