Friends of Music hosted its second annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction, Saturday April 12th. Organizers were thrilled and grateful as they watched proceeds surpass the year before. Money raised from this event went entirely to benefit the Marshfield Music Program.

Friends, family, teachers, band leaders, parents and politicians all came together for this fabulous night. Complete with wine and martini tasting, graciously provided by Tom Vincent from Horizon Beverage Company and Tom McGrath from Commonwealth Wine and Spirits along with delicious hors d’oeurvres donated by Linda Varrasso of Peppercornz and Tory Fait from Silent Chef, this was the social event of the season.

Over a hundred items were donated by merchants from all over the South Shore and the Boston area. Many items were also donated by friends and family of students in the Marshfield music program.

Big ticket items were a pair of Red Sox tickets, a weekend getaway to a condo on Lake Winnipesaukee and an original Sally Dean painting, the latter bringing the highest price of the night. Bill Bowers was the live auctioneer for these three items which only added to the excitement. After that, auction goers were told they had approximately 30 minutes to finish off their silent bids and bid they did.

There were sections set up around the room with different themes of items to be bid on. There was something for everyone including restaurants, spas, hotels, Patriots tickets, car care, dog grooming and even estate planning! Participants scrambled around the room locking in their final bids.

When all was said and done, a great time was had by all and the music program in Marshfield benefited tremendously. Thank you to organizers Rose Berardi, Terry Fitzgerald and their committee of tireless volunteers for pulling off another fantastic night!
